Test Manager is made up of two files:

    * TMInterface4.2.3.mdb
    * TMData4.2.mdb

This file should be unzipped to the C:\ drive. It will unpack into directory C:\TestManager. It is important to unpack into this directory otherwise the Interface will not connect to the data file.

To work as groups you may want to relink the interface to the data file over the network.

Copy the interface file TMInterface4.2.3.mdb to a new name, e.g. NetworkTMInterface4.2.3.mdb.

There are two ways to relink the interface to the data file as described below. Once relinked, this interface file can be copied onto each users machine without relinking provided that the network location is the same (suggest mapping the same network drive name on each workstation to the network location).

1. Use the linked table manager using the following steps:


   1. Open the NetworkTMInterface4.2.3.mdb database
   2. Select Tools->AddIns-LinkedTableManager
   3. A dialog box will appear
   4. Turn on the checkbox for "Always prompt for new location"
   5. Click on "Select All" button
   6. Click on OK
   7. A file open dialog will appear
   8. Find the data file on the network (normally called TestDataMaster4.2.mdb), best to have the location accessible as a mapped network drive.
   9. Click on OK.
  10. All files will be relinked automatically.

2. Manually relink:

   1. Open the NetworkTMInterface4.2.3.mdb database
   2. Click on the tables pane in the database window
   3. Manually delete each table in this pane, by selecting each table and pressing the delete key. A prompt to delete will be provided for each table.
   4. Repeat c until all tables deleted.
   5. Select File->GetExternalData->LinkedTables
   6. A file open dialog will appear
   7. Find the data file on the network (normally called TestDataMaster4.2.mdb), best to have the location accessible as a mapped network drive.
   8. Click on OK.
   9. All files will be relinked automatically.
