Philip Pooch
Senior ConsultantPhilip joined K. J. Ross & Associates in July 2008 from Suncorp IT.
He had nearly 14 years experience with Suncorp, 10 years of that spent in testing roles. Initially he was involved in User Acceptance Testing, but also did some System and Integration Testing. As need required, he also test managed some small infrastructure projects, and was a Test Director administrator.
Before moving into testing, Philip worked in mainframe Operations, Operations Support, and Migration Support. He was instrumental in the setup of PVCS Version Management, and the establishment of non-mainframe software migration processes.
He has spent the last seven years as a Performance Test Specialist, working with various banking, wealth, insurance, and CRM applications using the HP Loadrunner toolset.
With the move into the Systems Management team, Philip was able to reuse the skills and process maturity associated with performance testing, for end-user production monitoring. Much of his time was spent consulting for performance testing and production monitoring solutions and services, and managing the engagement with various internal clients.
Philip considers his strengths to be his end-user customer focus, his risk-based approach to application performance, and his ability to negotiate with key project, application, and infrastructure stakeholders to establish performance requirements.
His goal is to help his customers appreciate the benefits of an end-to-end Application Performance Management framework, and assist them towards that goal.
